Forquer Contracting was started in 1984 by owner Donald R Forquer. Don had developed many relations in the coal mining industry from his stint working for a pump repair company. When that company closed its doors the mining industry whom Don had befriended said to him that if he started a business that the work would be his. This was the beginning of Forquer Contracting.

Forquer Contracting was started out of a small garage in the lower lot of his mother’s house. Primarily at this time the business was to maintain and replace pumps that kept the coal mines from flooding. The business would slowly expand from five employees and one trade to more of both. Environmental and dirt work was soon to follow.

In 2000 Forquer Contracting moved into a new location and shop not far from the original. This new location provided much more room for expansion, and that is what happened. Around this time Don’s sons, Jordy and Ryan were in the picture as well. Starting off as employees and learning the business from the ground up.

Expanding into the earth moving industry was the next step. With more and more work coming out way there was nothing to do but go with the work and expand.

Starting with five employees in 1984, Forquer Contracting keeps around 60 employees on staff and are always looking for new opportunities.
